The image above is the cover which features the ranger Timorn on the throne in the antechamber of the high court at Kannon, the capital of the faerie kingdom of Itheria. Timorn’s hands are resting on his enchanted faerie sword which was cast with potent faerie magic. His sword was gifted to…..
Click to read a free excerpt from chapter 1. The Seer of Grace and Fire – chapter 1 How is work progressing on The Seer of Grace and Fire which is coming out soon? So, things are moving right along with the beta reading process for The Seer of Grace and Fire which is volume number 1 of my new dark fantasy series. This is the first time that I have had both a beta reader and an editor and…..
The Alchemist’s Ranger Book Summary: Timorn is a Ranger traveling the human cities hiring out his services from town to town. Arriving in Fallow in a rainstorm twenty days before DarkFall, he happens upon the Singing Harp pub making the rounds trying to find work for hire. Timorn happens upon a man in fancy dress in the pub looking for a sacred alchemy tool that turns raw metal into gold, an impossible magic. Hired for the task, which offers more…..
Figure: “Timorn Ethesian Brotherly Love” by Natsuya Uesugi So I have been doing concept art for The Seer of Grace and Fire and wanted to share the final image from Book 2, The Seer of Ice and Sky (novel and manga). This drawing I think has a certain feel of kindness and compassion between two twins who have been through a traumatic experience. The drawing features Ethesian, the Dream Seer with the long hair comforting a wounded Timorn, her twin…..
The Seer of Grace and Fire book 1 manuscript is completed and currently in beta. This book like grydscaen: tribute will feature illustrations for each chapter. The second book in the series, The Seer of Ice and Sky will also include chapter art. We have currently done 32 pieces of concept art for The Seer of Grace and Fire series. The banner above features characters from Book 2. The center character is Dalannin, the dark elf mage and he was…..
Now that we have grydscaen: dissonance edited and back to the publisher priming for publication and the grydscaen RPG starter booster pack cards are all formatted for the printer, we can start work back on “The Seer of Grace and Fire.” For the writing of the first novel in the trilogy we are in chapter 14 and the Beta Reader is in chapter 3. So this frees up my time except for my day job to work on Manga pages……
So with the majority of the character sketches done with only the Valkyris remaining, it is time to start thinking about creating manga pages for “The Seer of Grace and Fire.” I actually need to be proofreading the galley for grydscaen: dissonance but we are procrastinating for now. We were working on “graphic noise” and the associated manga but that became hard because it was about to turn into a love story which is not a place that I wanted…..
I am in the process of creating artwork, character sketches and manga pages for “The Seer of Grace and Fire” the new Dark Fantasy trilogy. Along with creating a Facebook Page, the Seer has become my new passion even as I am supposed to be proofreading the galley for grydscaen: dissonance. I promise I will do the cover reveal shortly but for now here is some Seer art work. The image on the far left is Timorn in a simple…..
So I am working with a beta reader for the new Fantasy book I am writing called “The Seer of Grace and Fire.” I had written previously a post on editing and one on beta readers, but now having actually worked with a beta reader on the first few chapters I have some different insights into the process which I wanted to share. So when I started the grydscaen series I did not want anyone messing with my idea. For…..
Writing a fantasy novel is hard work. The world is very different from a tech noir cyberpunk setting in the future of grydscaen. There are constraints to the world and some of the descriptions have to be different. You cannot say something is tall like a skyscraper unless you are writing urban fantasy set in the current world. The setting for “The Seer of Grace and Fire” includes magic and technology which will be closely related to alchemy so there…..
