Now that we have grydscaen: dissonance edited and back to the publisher priming for publication and the grydscaen RPG starter booster pack cards are all formatted for the printer, we can start work back on “The Seer of Grace and Fire.”
For the writing of the first novel in the trilogy we are in chapter 14 and the Beta Reader is in chapter 3. So this frees up my time except for my day job to work on Manga pages.
I did a lot of artwork for The Seer already drawing character sketches of each of the main characters which are all available on “The Seer of Grace and Fire” Facebook page (available @TheSeerOfGraceAndFire). This helps me visualize the characters for the book. Now for the manga I want to spend more time finalizing the drawings since I want this manga to be more sophisticated than “A Storm’s Coming.” Some of the panels may still be a little raw with the backgrounds required but I am working on that. As of this moment I have finished page 1 but I want to get some of the background work done a little more intricate in design.
My drawing style will also change a little bit with this rendition of the characters. I want there to be more details in their facial features and clothing. Drawing folds in clothing is hard for me so these pages will take more time. And I will draw backgrounds which my previous manga did not have much represented.
The first page of the manga features Timorn at the Singing Harp pub where he is playing with his magical faerie dagger under the table. He fiddles with dagger as patrons are busy enjoying themselves at the pub and then distractedly sets the dagger on top the table. A stronger slams their hand down on the dagger and inquires. This starts the main action of the story.
I hope you stick around for more artwork reveals from the manga.
For now I leave you with Panel 3 in Chapter 1 Page 1 of “The Seer of Grace and Fire” manga. We will be trying out Manga Studio for inking as well since that is a new tool for me. So far I am liking the journey. Let me know what you think as we continue this story.
Thanks for listening.
