This is Rom from the Packrat Sprawl. I am on my way to a data sale at Hack in a few minutes to check out the job board there. I need to get myself another gig. Anj lets me go out every now and then even though I am on a short leash from the Processing Centre. I wanted to describe Hack to you a little bit so you can get a feel for the place.
Hack is a tech and ware nightclub that enables you to jack in, has data sales, has terminals, a prize desk and a tech store on the first floor. There is a bouncer outside who can be real strict. No one under 18 is allowed into the place. Hack is open 24 hours. The DJ spins electronica on the second floor and there is a big board that displays hacks that people like Acolyte and other hackers hired by the prize desk show their activity.
The store at Hack is on the first floor and sells one off computers, handhelds, software, tech, anything you can think of that is electronic. I think I saw an old game console in there at one point. You can browser the store before you take in the rest of the club. If you want to pawn something there is the pawn window upstairs on the second floor. They pay good money for computer equipment that some of it gets sold at the store downstairs. There is also a powering spot on the second floor that you can power up your handheld by placing it near the panel if it has a kedek cell – very convenient.
The prize desk is where you get paid when you play some of the hacker games that Hack sponsors. Those are fun. There is also a bar on both floors. The DJ on the second floor times the music to the hacking entertainment that displays and there is also a dance floor we see people dancing every now and then.
The main draws are the hardline terminals in the back in two rows on the second floor. People use those to hack or surf the gridscan. There is a job board at the side that lists hacking jobs that are available. I know Acolyte from the Packrats sometimes puts up jobs. You can get a pretty good gig so take a look.
I hope you liked my summary of Hack today. I will be here for the rest of the day for the data sale where they will have IDs, passwords, tech and ware for sale. There may even be dumps which are cheap but beware if you get caught using them.
Well the data sale is about to start. I can hear the DJ pumping the music up. There goes the announcement. I am diving in. Thanks for listening. All Hail the Packrat Code!
