When initiates petition to join the Packrat clan they are subjected to a test in the grydscaen series. This determines what hacker faction they will be affiliated with. The initiate program is the first thing that a Packrat petitioning for membership in the clan must go through.
A Packrat is considered Rogue until they are affiliated with a group. Rogue Packrats are considered unworthy and lowly in the clan. Not everyone can become a Packrat.
If you wish to join the Packrats take the test. Become who you are that best suits your personality. Join the Packrat clan and become one with a group that supports freedom from oppression by the Elite government in the Echelons and the Zone.
The Packrats are led by Faid Callen. He is the Saicho, or overall leader of the Packrats and all factions in the clan.

Acolytes: (Led by Acolyte) You are an elite hacker who has a knack for computers and is always on the cutting edge of information technology. You have a keen eye for strategy and will get things done by any means necessary.
Hosts: Loves people in more ways than one and wants to make their customers happy. Has a sensual nature and a big heart and sees the best in people. Loves to share and take recommendations from the target. Will please you with a sharp wit and a generous nature as well as meet all your sexual needs.
Runners: (Led by Anj) Quick thinking and quick actions makes a Runner who has a knack for seeing the truth in things. Always thinking ahead and can get out of any situation. Strives to see the monetary benefit in what he does and will get the job done no matter how dangerous. Smuggling drugs or data is all the same game. Name your price, we will get it.
Mobile Command Center: (Led by Dark) A pilot who gets a thrill from mobile frame technology. Has a knack for battle and is shrewd and calculating.
Prophets: (Led by Aseth) A religious minded and spiritual person who loves life and follows the teaching of the great god of wisdom Thoth. Likes helping people and will use his psychic powers to heal.
Wastes: (Led by Naito) A lover of drug culture who has a knack for fighting and will throw his all into strategizing and winning a battle. A sharp fighter who can best his opponent in multiple ways. Strong, determined, judgmental.
