Update on the Coins Suit Steal Cards
We have an update for the grydscaen RPG Trading Card game today. Just finished the final 4 cards for the Coins suit which includes the Steal cards for the game. This suit includes 9 Coins cards plus Jack, Queen, King and Ace. Obtain credits, reputation tokens and virus tokens as well as RFID badges, Confidential data, Encryption keys and Top Secret IDs. This suit is interesting because it has different rules for the hacker player versus the opponent player. This suit likes you rolling the dice as well which leaves the card rules more up to chance making this suit very interesting. No two games will be the same for this set of cards.
I like this suit as well because it required the visualization of some of the hacker affiliates in the game including Jazz the leader of the Jazz Hacker Guild, Mage the leader of the Terror Hack, Gryphon the leader of the data pirate Black Holes and Jester the leader of the Jester Hacker Guild. All these cards meant I needed to visualize that hacker. I think the above cards came out just the way I wanted them to. I knew that Jester was a fop and that Gryphon wore a mask and a skull cap but actually visualizing them for the cards was a nice change of pace. Check them out above in the image.
Update on the grydscaen RPG Rule Book
The Rule Book is coming along nicely. We have updated the “winning and losing” page and the “choose your character” pages with new information and more detail. The grydscaen RPG Rule Book is 20 pages of RPG goodness and includes information about all the suits and the Major Arcana hacker, opponent and supplemental cards. The game rules have also been slightly revised on how to win the game. They are more clear now and there are required cards to execute the final attack for the hacker or the final raid for the opponent. I have two beta testers working with the Rule Book now.
Update on the grydscaen Tarot Guide Book
The Rule Book tells you how to play the game but the Guide Book tells you how to use the cards for a Tarot reading. It includes 4 card spreads, a set of card interpretations for the suits and Major Arcana and instructions about how to do a reading. The grydscaen RPG game will come with both the Rule Book and the Guide Book so that you can use the cards in any manner that you want. Don’t want to play or read your cards? Then just collect the cards and enjoy the artwork and detail about the characters and the grydscaen world.
Next Steps for the grydscaen RPG
Next we will work on the Wands suit of Skill cards. These include psychic powers and some Social Engineering skills. More artwork is in my future. There will be at least 3 new pieces of artwork for the Wands set of cards maybe more but that is what we have right now in the works. We go to the printer tomorrow and will print the Cups suit Attack cards and the Opponent Booster pack cards from the Major Arcana. Am happy that we will be getting more cards before the end of 2016. The rest of the cards will be ready in 2017. We will continue with the Rule Book and the Guide Book and will also start working on the box design. Luckily the printer says that they will be able to do a box as well. I think I want the guides in the box which will make it larger but I think that would be the best for shipping. Luckily I took a packaging class in art school so hopefully I can remember how to put a box together and do the artwork or it. We will have to see because art school was a full year ago. I will have to find some die lines for boxes.
