Limited Edition grydscaen RPG Trading Card game playtester copy available
Want to get your hands on a limited edition copy of the grydscaen RPG Trading Card game before it is released? On 1 February 2017, a copy of the game will be made available on eBay. I will post more detail about it as we get closer to the date.
When will the Finished game be available to purchase?
The second print run of the game is scheduled for end March 2017 after any modifications from play testing. We are looking into distributors for mid 2017 and planning has already started.
How the grydscaen RPG game is helping troubled teens
So, the grydscaen RPG Trading Card game was originally created to go along with the grydscaen: A Storm’s Coming manga which is about a homeless gay teen surviving the street. The related anthology grydscaen: tribute about hackers against the government showcases that story. There is also the first episode of the short anime for the story.
The A Storm’s Coming manga has been picked up by two counseling centers to use as a tool to help promote self esteem amoungst troubled teens. The grydscaen RPG game was designed to enable troubled teens trying to find themselves and their identity to interact through game play learning about technology as they play in the grydscaen world where LGBT characters hold positions of power. There are 3 transgender characters (2 FTM: Sati/Blue and 1 MTF: Ethesian), 3 gay characters (Faid/Rom/Acolyte), 1 bisexual character (Lino), and 1 lesbian (Zoon) in the Major Arcana. The Blue character also represents asexual, and Ethesian additionally represents intersexed. All these characters are major characters in the scifi cyberpunk grydscaen series except for Ethesian who is a main character in The Seer of Grace and Fire which has 3 cards in the grydscaen RPG game in the Major Arcana.
The game along with the books and the mission of grydscaen is to help young adults with positive roll models as teens come into their own and find themselves as they learn more about the world. Some teens struggle with this or there are extenuating circumstances (abuse, alcoholism, drug addiction, poverty, runaways, crime, hunger, mental illness, homelessness) or they come out as gay to unsupportive parents and family members.
