what new fanart/fanfiction doujinshi projects do you have going?
So I went to ComicCon last week and sold out of the Saiyuki Shame doujinshi volume 1 in about 2 hours. The work is based on the characters in Gensoumaden Saiyuki. The doujinshi was really popular with all the fans at the con. So with that, it means that I am going to create volume 2 of the doujinshi and continue the fan fiction this year.
There are three stories in the doujinshi that focus on Sanzo, the rebellious Buddhist priest. I will be continuing these stories in the next volume. The book starts off with a 15 page mini manga that focuses on the relationship between Sanzo and Gojyo which is the key pairing for this story.
With all the praise that I got for the first version of the doujinshi I wanted to get more copies of volume 1 printed. The printer couldn’t find the files so we had to rip the book apart to enable it to be recreated. More cost to me but it will make it so I can have the files for next time.
I had not been planning to write any more fan fiction or doujinshi but with the fan buzz over it I decided that I had to dive in again.
The doujinshi was originally created 10 years ago and I had just found a box of copies in my closet the week before ComicCon. I was not planning to bring it with me to the con but at the last minute I figured why not.
Since yaoi seemed to be so popular I am glad that I brought it and next year I will also have the graphic noiz manga another yaoi original title to bring with me.
So far I am having fun writing yaoi in the graphic noiz series and this with the doujinshi will help me to establish a presence in the genre. My work focuses on boy’s love and not erotica in the yaoi space so I draw the line at that.
I hope you stick around for more updates on the new contempt doujinshi as we get to start creating it. Thanks for listening.
